Recipes!

Since we've got a reputation for good food at Ruthy's place, this is the page to find out what's goin' down in the kitchen.

At Christmas time and ANY TIME, the Chinese noodle cookie/candy is a GINORMOUS favorite around here and the recipe (and the awesome way Missy Tippens made them!)

12 oz. dark chocolate chips
12 oz. butterscotch chips

Melt together.  Add in:

One 10 oz bag/can of skinny Chinese noodles, the crispy, salty, crunchy ones.
One cup spanish peanuts or cashews or mixed chopped nuts

(at this point you may also add in raisins or coconut or mini-M&M's, but the basic recipe is the most popular one around here. You can also experiment with milk chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, etc. The milk chocolate chips give a sweeter overall taste and we like the dark chocolate variety best, but then we're weird and you may not be weird. It's hard to say from this distance.)

Drop by spoonfulls into spider-like blobs on aluminum foil or wax paper. Cool. Store in a sealed container. For long-term storage place in sealed container and mark top with CALVES LIVER or something equally disgusting to prying eyes and preying hands.

Works every time.
